Let us observe what the plants have to show us about their year of growth and the yields of plants that would be harvested by the people of this land back in time. The Oaks will have produced acorns for gathering around this time of the year.  Several other important plants like Toyon, Laurel leaf Sumac may have fruit. We can also observe the condition of the plants that may still be in flower or out of season.  We can look at seed structures that will disperse, or have dispersed their seeds by now, or have been consumed by birds and other wildlife living in the area.

Meet at the Nature Center. The hike starts at 9:00, dress in layers and good walking/hiking shoes. Bring water and sun protection.
