In the course, participants learn to recognize the signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis through communication skills, information and referrals to resources. Training covers the most common and most stigmatized mental health disorders, including signs and symptoms, risk factors and crisis first aid for specific situations such as substance use, mood related disorders, anxiety and trauma related disorders and psychotic disorders.
