Legal Notice and Terms of Registration

By registering for San Diego Bird Festival (SDBF), you agree to the following terms:

1. Assumption of Risk & Waiver of Liability
Participation in SDBF activities, including guided birding walks, field trips, and related outdoor events, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven or slippery terrain, weather exposure, insect or wildlife encounters, and physical exertion. As part of registration, you will be required to review and electronically sign a separate Liability Waiver and Release form. Registration is not complete, and your place in the event is not confirmed, until this waiver has been signed.

2. Photo & Video Release
SDBF may photograph or record attendees during event activities. By registering, you consent to the use of such images or footage in promotional materials, including our website, social media, and future marketing, unless you notify us in writing at info@sandiegobirdfestival.org prior to the event.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Bird Festival Registration fee is non-refundable. Activity Fees can be either refunded if within cancellation deadlines or credited towards other purchases in the registration system.
In the event the SDBF cancels or postpones activities due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control, registrants will be offered a credit or refund at our discretion.

4. Code of Conduct
Attendees are expected to follow ethical birding practices, respect wildlife and habitats, and treat fellow participants and staff courteously.SDBF reserves the right to remove any attendee from the event without refund for conduct that endangers others, disturbs wildlife, or violates posted guidelines.

5. Health & Emergency Information
Some activities involve walking on uneven or remote trails. If you have a medical condition that may affect your participation, please consult your physician before registering. You will be asked to provide an emergency contact as part of registration.

6. Data Privacy
Information collected during registration (name, email, payment details, emergency contact) is used solely to administer the event and, unless you opt out, to send future festival updates. We do not sell your information to third parties.

7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
