CLICK…”Got it!”.  There is nothing like the feeling when newly acquired skills, patience, and little luck come together to capture the perfect photo. 

San Diego Audubon invites you to join this unique 4-day, photography-centric tour to a collection of birding hotspots in San Diego and Orange counties. Highly acclaimed professional nature photographer Krisztina Scheeff of KS Nature PHotography will lead a small-group to target-rich locations for resident and migratory birds while providing hands-on technique instruction, in-the-field coaching, and image processing workshops. Amateur or professional photographers will learn and use valuable new skills.

• Photograph the rushing Western and Clark’s Grebes at Lake Hodge

• Shorebird action at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary and the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

• Hidden gem locations like Santee Lakes and Bolsa Chica

Krisztina Scheeff / KS Nature Photography is an award-winning nature photographer recognized for her work with the National Audubon Society and as a finalist in the Wildlife Photograph of the Year competition. Krisztina’s photos have been featured in National Geographic, Wild Planet Photo Magazine, San Diego Audubon Society, Birders Digest, North American Nature Photography Association, and more. Krisztina is active leading workshops for bird festivals across the continent and for hosting popular wildlife photography tours to Scotland, Ireland, Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hungary, Bosque del Apache, and Grand Teton National Park. After years of studying and photographing “rushing Grebes” during their annual courtship behavior in San Diego, Krisztina has earned the title of “Grebe Whisperer” among her many delighted clients. 

This is a meet-you-there trip. Participants provide their own transportation to activities. We will make an effort to help arrange carpools for those who are interested.
