StoryBook Theatre creates bold, inclusive theatre for young people and families, blending productions with education, access, and imagination.
Description
As StoryBook Theatre proudly approaches its 50th season, we celebrate nearly five decades as Canada’s largest volunteer-driven theatre for young audiences and families. For almost 50 years, StoryBook has ignited a love of theatre in over one million people in Calgary, nurturing creativity, confidence, and belonging through accessible, professional productions and theatre education. Each season, we bring together some of the industry’s most exciting emerging artists—onstage and behind the scenes—to create high-quality, imaginative theatre experiences that are welcoming to all families. Our work invites children and their caregivers to dream about who they are and who they might become, to explore stories from multiple perspectives, to think critically, and to connect meaningfully with others and the world around them. Mission StoryBook Theatre celebrates the power of theatre to inspire children and their families to dream, explore, think, and connect through high-calibre, accessible productions and theatre school programming. Vision StoryBook Theatre strives to be a vital performing arts organization recognized for its leadership in inclusive, accessible, and diverse family theatre programming, enriching our community for generations to come.
