The Shark Fins program is an inclusive group for beginner swim team swimmers through advanced competitors. This practice team takes the time to improve each swimmer’s stroke through instruction and drills, while also increasing endurance. Practices are layered so that there’s plenty of opportunity for swimmers to improve their strokes and practice new techniques.

There’s no long term commitment! Sign-ups are offered in short calendar blocks, giving families the flexibility they need to accommodate the changing schedules of vacations and additional sports practices.

Designed to "feel" like a swim team, this program trains in the standard language and style of a competitive group. BUT, there are no specialized uniforms and no long distance travel to massive meets. Train hard with a coach who knows how to make a workout fun!

There are no refunds for missed classes. Classes are not prorated for late sign up.

Available spots: 4/18

Price: $160.00 - $205.00 Taxes waived

Required age: 5 - 18 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Weather Lessons are not canceled due to rain or cooler temperatures. Outdoor lessons will be moved indoors in the event of lightning within 30 miles of the facility. Cancelations are determined 30 minutes before the start time of each class. Scheduled into each session is one weather make-up day. Any lost days beyond that accommodation is beyond our control. Weather related make up sessions are only for cancelation of the entire day's class by TCAP staff and are not available for individual scheduling conflicts or for students not participating in class for any reason. Instructors will send group emails in case of weather-related cancelations. It is important you make sure your contact information is correct. Lesson Make-ups There are no lesson make-ups or rescheduling of session times or days because of classes missed or family scheduling conflicts. Refunds will not be given for lessons missed. It is important to sign up for session times you are available to attend class. Start Time Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your class to prepare for the lesson. Lessons begin and end according to scheduled time. Please bring something to entertain siblings not participating in lessons. Only enrolled students are allowed in the water, and only during their scheduled lesson. If your class is scheduled during summer public swim hours you will need to pay the daily fee if you wish to swim before or after class. Refunds for Class Cancelations Refunds must be requested at least seven days before the start of the session. Refunds requested less than one week before the start of the session will not be granted. Refunds requested between seven and thirteen days before the start of the session will be granted, minus 50% of the price of the session. Refunds requested fourteen or more days before the start of the session will be granted, minus 20% of the price of the session. Transfers It is important to enroll in the correct class, not above or below student's skill level (the swimmer should be challenged, but not overwhelmed) AND during a time that does not conflict with other family activities. Skill levels are posted at PlayTC.com, along with the schedule. Please use these postings to help you coordinate your calendar before your session starts. If available, transfers requested seven days or more in advance of the program start date are available. There will be a 20% Transfer Fee. No Transfers will be considered if requested less than seven days prior to the program start date. Medical Refunds Medical Refunds will be granted at a prorated amount upon receiving a doctor's note. Prorated amount will begin on the date the note is received by the Aquatic Office Staff, not the date of the note regardless of when the illness or injury occurred. We reserve the right to verify these notes with the doctor's office. Cancellations or Transfers made by Parks and Recreation Programs canceled by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department due to low enrollment or other circumstances will result in the patron's choice of full refund or transfer (when available).
