The Guelph Outdoor School

Transformative full nature immersion and mentorship programs for a generation of kids who are compassionate, resilient, service-oriented, and joyful.

Start date: Sunday, May 25 2025.

Schedule:

 Sunday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM ,

Resource person: danielle@theguelphoutdoorschool.com

Description:

Join us for a full day of wild weaving with Red osier dogwood and other local plant neighbours.

Participants will work toward creating a small basket. We will learn weaving techniques along the way such as creating a round base, building the sides with a three-rod and English rand, and finishing with a border. While crafting together we will also learn about dogwood and the local ecology along the Eramosa river.

Note: Weaving is a peaceful and repetitive process that asks a lot of our hands. Some folks who hold tension in their hands may find the craft challenging and many find themselves a bit sore after weaving all day.
