Description:

In this creative mixed media class for adults, we will explore techniques like: creating painted backgrounds, mark making, gelli printing, collage, art journaling, and more. You will leave with a lovely collection of your own painted papers to use in collage, in your art journals and art projects, long after our time together is done. 

 Each class will have these components:
•    Visual Demos
•    Time to try out techniques
•    Time to work in your art journal and/or on your art projects 

About the Instructor: Theresa P-Tan is an Ecuadorean/Puerto Rican, mixed media artist originally from Brooklyn, NY. She holds a Master of Art in Education from Columbia Teachers College in New York City and she is a former New York City public school teacher. Theresa has been a teaching artist for The Durham Arts Council and The Carrboro ArtsCenter. She has exhibited her work at Golden Belt Art Campus, Durham NC, The Arts Center, Carrboro NC, and at Diamante Arts & Cultural Center, Raleigh NC. Theresa is currently a member of FRANK Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC. You can also find her work at The North Carolina Museum of Art’s Museum Shop.
