Description:
In this dance class, we will dive into the natural movements of the body, as we focus on strength, flexibility, and control. Throughout the session, you will master techniques such as breath rhythms, successional flow, and oppositional motion, while building your personal movement vocabulary. You will progress from the basics to your own dance style, within a supportive environment. Don't miss out on the opportunity to harmonize body and spirit. This class is open to all levels from beginners to seasoned dancers wanting to reignite the passion to dance.
About the Instructor: Antonia Beh has been teaching and performing in the Triangle area for over twenty years. She danced professionally in New York City, touring nationally with the Mimi Garrard Dance Company, before moving to North Carolina. Antonia was a Visiting Artist for the NC Arts Council, initiated the dance program at Governor's School-East, performed with the New Performing Dance Company in Durham, and formed her own company, The Dance Project, in Raleigh. She was a dance specialist in the Wake County Public Schools, and later added ESL licensure to teach English as a Second Language. Antonia combined her love of dance and language in creating presentations with her students at ESL conferences. After retiring from teaching in the public schools, she returned to dance, and is currently performing with the Big Red Dance Project in Durham.
