LEVEL 1: Introduction to Water Skills

The purpose of this level is to help participants feel comfortable in the water.

This class is for swimmers with little to no water experience.

 

Participants MUST be able to:

• Communicate with instructor
• Actively listen and follow directions
• Understand pool safety rules
• Know safe areas to swim

 

Participants will focus on the following skills WITH assistance from an instructor:

• Blowing bubbles
• Submerging and retrieving objects under water
• Front and back glides and back floats
• Rolling over front to back and back to front
• Entering and exiting the pool
• Basic arm and leg movements

 

Participants must be able to complete the above skills comfortably with confidence and consistency to move to Level 2.
