Events: The Parks and Recreation Events Division is the focal point for large and small-scale events in Waxhaw. Planning, coordination and execution of Town-sponsored festivals and events begins and ends here. The Events Division also functions as a resource for individuals or organizations seeking to hold an event within the Town limits. Coordination of street closures, requests for public services, and special permissions can be obtained through this division. Programs: In a Town-wide survey about Parks & Recreation services, Waxhaw residents indicated strong interest in regular programming from the Town. In response, the department is creating youth programs, teen nights and activities, adult programs and trips, senior fitness classes and social hours. Facility Rentals: Waxhaw offers a variety of rental facilities designed to accommodate community events, private gatherings, athletic activities, and special events. Spaces range from small meeting rooms and picnic shelters to large indoor venues and outdoor athletic fields.
