Description:
Would you like to make your garden more attractive to pollinators? Join instructors Sangeeta Thomas and Neil Dumont on a walk and talk through VanDusen Botanical Garden. They will discuss how to use plants to build a habitat that will support a variety of bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. You will gain an understanding of how to plan a 4-season pollinator garden that will provide food and other resources for urban insects, as well as encourage nesting sites for these species in your area. A bloom timetable will be provided. Sangeeta has worked as the head gardener at Earthwise gardens, a pollinator-focused public garden. She now works at the VBGA as a Senior Environmental Educator, where she is thrilled to share all she knows about flowers! Neil is the owner of WildBee Co., a business that started with the idea of creating unique solitary bee homes for our urban environment. Meet at the Visitor Centre and enter the Garden as a group. The entire class is spent outdoors, rain or shine. Online pre-registration is required. Image by Jggrz from Pixabay.
