Discover how to develop your garden's resilience to the evolving seasonal realities of our changing climate: hot, dry summers, intense storms, and unpredictable cold snaps. Learn gardening techniques to help you and your food garden adapt to extreme weather and varying conditions. Instructor Rhiannon Johnson will teach you how to make your garden more resilient to temperature and precipitation changes.

About the Instructor 

Rhiannon Johnson has been teaching gardening classes for over 10 years, delivering over 30 workshops annually at community centers, neighbourhood houses, and community gardens. A lifelong gardener with a Bachelor's in Biology and a Master's in Environmental Engineering, Rhiannon brings her passion for teaching and wealth of knowledge to inspire both beginning and seasoned gardeners. Known for her clear communication and engaging style, Rhiannon receives rave reviews from participants.

Notes: Please note that registration will close at 4:00 p.m. PT, one business day before the event. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Prerequisites: Educational programs are available for both members and non-members. In order to register for a class, you first need to open an account with Amilia, our online registration portal.
