Come to the Garden to create your own tiny, tropical world!

Join us for a family-friendly guided walk to discover some of the more tropical plants growing throughout the Garden; some of these species have been on the planet since prehistoric times, when the world was a lot more tropical, and have fascinating adaptations that have helped them survive even the jaws of hungry dinosaurs!

On our return to the classroom, you'll be guided through the steps to create a tiny tropical terrarium world for your windowsill at home. Care instuctions for your tropical terrarium will be provided.

A Workshop Registration is required to be purchased for EACH person (Adult and Child) attending the class. At least one(1) Terrarium Materials Kit per family group must be purchased in addition to Workshop Registrations. You are weclome to purchase additional kits if each person in your group would like to complete a project. 

Follow these steps to register & purchase your kit:

Step 1. Under 'Tropical Terrarium Workshop - click 'Session'

Step 2. Select a participant you'd like to register by clicking on the icon with the plus sign beside the name. 

Step 3. Your will have the option of selecting the number of Terrarium Materials Kits you would like for your family group. To purchase and add to cart click 'Continue'.

Step 4. You will be returned to the ' Select Participants to Register' page. If you would like to add another participant from your account, repeat Steps 1 - 3 , either adding additional Terrarium Kits OR selecting 'Skip and Continue'. 

Step 5. Once you have added all participants, select 'Checkout'. Confirm you have selected a registration for all members of your group (Adult and Child) and the correct number of kits.  

Please note: registration will close on Thursday, September 14th at 5:00pm.

Required age: Over 5 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: Children must be accompanied by an adult for this program. Supervision of children is the responsibility of the parent or caregiver at all times. Children must be 5 or older to attend. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Please notify us of your cancellation in writing to learn@vandusen.org
