The Riveting World of Raptors

Did you know owls, eagles, hawks, falcons & even the occassional osprey can all be seen right here at VanDusen Botanical Gardens? As a biodiversity hotpsot in the city, this urban oasis provides habitat and hunting grounds for a number of riveting raptors.

Join us in the Garden for this exciting Family Nature Program on Saturday, June 24th from 1:30pm - 4pm focused on these amazingly adapted top predators of the skies:

• Meet special guest educators and live birds from the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (O.W.L) in a 1hr presentation
• Take a guided walk to learn more about the raptor species that frequent the Garden while keeping our ears and eyes open for our resident Barred owls 
• Dissect a real owl pellet to learn about what these predatorory birds eat for lunch
• Learn fascinating facts about these and other incredibly cool raptor species through fun games and activities

Registration must be purchased for EACH Adult & Child in your group for admission to the program. 

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Notes: Registration must be purchased for EACH Adult & Child for admission to the program. This is NOT a drop-off program. Children must be accompanied by an adult for this program. Supervision of children is the responsibility of the parent or caregiver at all times. Best suited to children ages 5 and up. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given.
