Discover Nature with Your Smartphone

Join Emily Black to unlock the power in your pocket to contribute to local and global citizen science projects! In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use easily-accessible apps and websites to identify local plants and animals using your smartphone. Discover how your everyday observations can drive local conservation initiatives to support biodiversity in your own backyard.

This beginner-friendly workshop includes:

  • 1-Hour Classroom Presentation: A guided introduction to the best nature apps and tools.
  • 1-Hour Garden "BioBlitz": An outdoor exploration to practice your new tech skills in real time.

This 2-hour outdoor program runs rain or shine, and will follow paved & unpaved paths with some uneven surfaces.
