Join us in exploring the synergy of nature as we journey through the realm of plants that bring vitality, movement, delightful sounds, and a touch of flair to fall gardens. 

In this online class, Janis Matson will guide you through the art of integrating bark, fruit, foliage, and flowers into the tapestry of your garden. Learn how to orchestrate a symphony of colours, textures, and shapes that dance in harmony with the changing seasons, giving your outdoor space a sense of cozy warmth and inviting appeal. 

The class will be recorded, and registered students will have access to the recordings for a limited time. Online pre-registration is required.

Instructor’s Bio 

Janis Matson is an enthusiastic, approachable and well-qualified Horticulturist with over 30 years of experience who enjoys the challenge of making gardens look and feel good. Her experience includes retail nursery, landscape design & installation, and arboriculture. She has operated Shoreline Landscape Design ltd. in Burnaby for over 25 years. Instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University with the horticultural diploma and apprenticeship programs and at Burnaby Community Education with the horticultural Hardscape, Plant ID certificate and apprenticeship programs. Her credentials include Landscape Design and horticultural diploma, Floral design Certificate, Arborist Certificate, Arborist risk assessor, Red Seal Journeyman ticket, level 1 irrigation certificate, ICPI - paver installation certificate and a Provincial Instructors diploma.

Notes: Please note that registration for our webinars will close an hour before the event. Online course log-in details will be sent 24 hours before the course date. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Please notify us of your cancellation in writing to learn@vandusen.org
