Deepen your connection to VanDusen Botanical Garden through an enriching guided walk led by expert Subforeperson & gardener Andrew Fleming. Join us for an hour-long exploration where Andrew will showcase fascinating plants with distinctive qualities that captivate all year round. Discover stunning species such as Stachyurus praecox, Decaisnea fargesii, and Holboellia coriacea. 

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and secure your spot by pre-registering online. Meeting point details will be provided within 24 hours before the Guided Walk begins.

Instructor's Bio

With over 20 years of experience in horticulture, Andrew's journey began with landscape design studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In 2009, he joined the Vancouver Parks Board and further enriched his expertise by acquiring his Red Seal Certification in 2012. Prior to his current role at VanDusen, Andrew served as the subforeman at Queen Elizabeth Park and dedicated almost four years to plant propagation at Sunset Nursery. His profound love for plants and the great outdoors has made his career a source of immense joy, as he considers himself fortunate to combine his passion with his profession.

Notes: Please note that registration will close at 4:00 p.m. PT, one business day before the event. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. A credit will be applied to your account for cancellations with one week's notice. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued. Prerequisites: Educational programs are available for both members and non-members. In order to register for a class, you first need to open an account with Amilia, our online registration portal.
