Description:
Be inspired by winter garden features such as amaryllis, snowberries, poinsettia, holly, and more as we create miniature works of art as greeting cards. Susan Pearson will demonstrate various techniques such as creating patterns, quick and simple impressions, wet on dry and wet into wet, and finely detailed realism. Some painting experience is recommended. Six watercolour paper blank cards will be provided per person. Susan suggests that participants bring the following materials: Watercolour Paints - Holbein brand: Red (Carmine) Yellow (New Gamboge) Blue (Peacock blue). Can add Olive Green, Opera (hot pink), and Payne’s grey. Detailed Brushes – size 01 for fine detail. A good array of brushes includes sizes 04, 1, 4, and 6. Mixing Palette - plastic or ceramic white surface Sketching – 2b mechanical pencil and white eraser Water – 2 mason jars or 2 yogurt containers Blow Dryer – nice to have for drying paint layers quickly Online registration is required. Notes: Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given for education courses. For cancellations with one week's notice, a credit will be applied to your account. With less than a week's notice, no credit will be given. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued.
