During this interactive experience, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the identification and characteristics of 20 selected medicinal plants within the VanDusen Botanical Garden. Unlock a world of natural remedies for a healthier you. Instructor's Bio: Lily Chunling Liu is an instructor in the School of Horticulture at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She received a Ph.D. in Botanical Medicine, an M.Sc. in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from universities in China, and an M.Sc. in Forestry from the University of British Columbia in Canada. Dr. Liu was an Associate Professor in Chinese Materia Medica at the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her research focused on quality control and good agricultural practice of Chinese medicinal plants in China, which have provided guidelines for Chinese herbal industries and growers. Since moving to Canada, she has worked closely with local farmers and growers on the domestication of Chinese medicinal plants in North America, herbal garden and farm design, and developing herbal businesses. No new credit will be issued if the cancelled course was purchased using prior credit. Program cancellation by the VBGA due to Public Health Restrictions will result in education program credit equivalent to the value lost. Credits must be used within one year from the date issued.
