You do not need to apply for this scholarship if you are registering for a free activity. If you are approved for a scholarship, we will then apply a discount to your account for your registration.
We strive to make our programs accessible to Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people and people who need financial assistance. We will provide full and partial scholarships to SFUSD students and community members in a way that assesses racial equity, financial need, available funding, and order received.
We aim for our fee-for-service programming to support our free youth and community programming and provide fair wages and resources for our faculty artists.

Students will learn how to build an artistic practice in photography. Photography will focus on the basics of composition, exposure, color theory, photo sequencing, as well as dive into the history of photographic image and how to use a darkroom to develop film and print pictures. It is designed to explore the aesthetics and techniques of photography so students can better understand not only how to create stronger images but also how to study and analyze them. We will learn how to become better storytellers with our images and how to cultivate an art practice that we can integrate into our daily life.
