Repeats curriculum with new pen pals.

This class will help your child discover the joy of personal correspondence. They will exchange hand-written notes with senior citizens, who will become their pen pals. This unique opportunity gives kids an introduction to personal letter writing, which will help them form letters and aid in spelling and handwriting. They will be learning these important skills while engaged in community service, bringing joy to local senior citizens, as well as learning the thrill of receiving mail. Children may even feel inclined to be artistic with their letters, so some artwork instruction will be sprinkled in throughout the semester.

Prerequisite: Students should be proficient readers.

Tuition: $120/$87.60 for volunteers
