Did you know that the term Vikings, means “pirates” in the early Scandanavian languages? We will study their expertise as sailors and shipbuilders—and their fierce raiding spirit, which enabled them to trade, conquer, and explore over a vast area. Students will learn about the voyages of Eric the Red and his son, Leif Eriksson and will be introduced to Norse mythology, including stories of Odin, Thor, and Loki. all while performing hands-on activities such as, making a shield, a trollen wheel for braiding and looking at ruins to spell our own names.

Tuition: $120/$87.60 for volunteers
