Ferndale Jr. NBA Youth Basketball League

Get in the game with the official recreational youth basketball league of the NBA and WNBA, right here in Ferndale!

Our Jr. NBA Youth Basketball League provides boys and girls in grades K–8 the opportunity to learn and play the game in a structured, fun, and community-driven environment. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, respect, determination, and community, this league is perfect for both beginners and returning players.

Plus, with your registration, your athlete will receive a free ticket to a Detroit Pistons game later this 2026 season.

Players will receive official Jr. NBA uniforms featuring real NBA or WNBA team branding. All Jr. NBA Leagues are operated by approved organizations that meet national youth sport safety standards, including background screenings and SafeSport certification.

What to Expect:

• Weekly Practices: Held on weekday evenings based on coach and gym availability.

• Game Days:

  • Weekday games: Hosted at Hazel Park Jr. High School

  • Saturday games: Hosted at Ferndale Middle School & Ferndale High School Gymnasiums

• Quad-City League Format: Compete with teams from Ferndale, Oak Park, Hazel Park, and more

• Team Jerseys Provided

• Players must bring gym shoes, shorts/pants, and a water bottle.

Divisions Offered:

• Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

• 3rd – 4th Grade

• 5th – 6th Grade

• 7th – 8th Grade
  (Divisions dependent on volunteer coaches and registration numbers. Players may be encouraged to “play up” if skill level allows.)

Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Volunteer coaches receive a refund for up to 2 children per season. Training and support provided.
