Informations importantes

Ferndale Summer Camp is a summer day camp recreation program licensed by the State of Michigan and sponsored by the City of Ferndale’s Parks & Recreation Department. The camp is offered to school-aged children ages 5-12 (post-Kindergarten).

We build our success on age-appropriate activity groups, excellent staff, and a wide variety of engaging activities. We provide traditional camp activities like swimming, arts & crafts, music, nature, sports, games and group projects. Through hands-on activities and low counselor-to-camper ratios, our camp builds self-esteem and provides excellent opportunities for individual attention.

Varying weekly themes help to keep the camp experience exciting and fresh for our campers that choose to attend all summer. All campers are divided into age-specific groups so they can interact with others who are at or near their physical and emotional levels.

By registering for and participating in this event/program, you agree to allow the City of Ferndale to freely publish all photographs it takes of participants during participation in event/program activities for use in digital and print promotional material for future programming. This includes but is not limited to advertisements, social media, and publication pieces. If you have any questions, contact a Ferndale Parks and Recreation staff member at 248-544-6767.

Deposits and Installments:
Summer Camp sessions may be purchased using our installment feature when using a credit or debit card to make the purchase.  When using this feature, you will be prompted to pay a $50 deposit per registered session at the time of checkout.  The remaining balance will be processed on the Monday one week before the scheduled session utilizing the same card used to process the deposit.  If your card cannot be processed at that time, you will be contacted to make the remaining payment manually.  If you choose not to make the remaining payment or cannot be reached to do so, you will forfeit your spot in the session, and your deposit will not be refunded.

Wait List:
If you are looking to register for a session that is already full, you may add your camper's name to the wait list in case a spot becomes available due to another camper's cancelation.  If a spot opens up, you will receive an email letting you know about it and prompting you to make the payment to secure the spot.  Available spots are opened up to wait listed registrants in order up until the week before the first session of camp.  At that time, available spots will be simultaneously open to all registrants listed on the wait list and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
