Description :
This course offers a thoughtful exploration of the history of spiritual art. Across time, humanity has sought Beauty—in nature, in the arts, and in the cultivation of character. How have different cultures and faiths expressed their understanding of the visible and invisible realms? What artistic portrayals have emerged of earth and heaven, sacred spaces and sounds, revered figures and stories, and the human pursuit of refinement? Together, we’ll survey humanity’s enduring quest for Beauty, discovering many inspiring examples along the way. Instructor: Harold Rosen is a community interfaith educator with Master's degrees in philosophy, education & religion; has taught over 200 community courses during the last 25 years; and is the author of "Founders of Faith" and "Eye to the Ages".
