Description :

Using the book Threads of Life by Clare Hunter as our prompt, we will explore the history of stitch and the people who have used needle and thread to tell their stories. Hunter connects history, culture and politics through the ages to textiles, particularly hand stitching. We will focus on three themes that she identifies - Captivity, Protest and Place. Our discussion and sharing will end with a short session of hand stitch.

Instructor: Nora Ready, she/her, is a fibre artist living in Saanich, traditional territory of the Lekwungen and W SÁNEC people.
