For some people, open water swimming is about connecting with nature and escaping the day-to-day of life. For some it is an amazing full-body workout. For others it is part of their triathlon training. For some people it is just a really fun, exhilarating experience. For us it has been all of these things, and we love it! We want to give our fellow swimmers a chance to experience it in a comfortable, safe, and fun environment.

Town of Avon staff provide lifeguards and setup a .25 mile/400 meter (approximate) triangle course set up on the south side of the lake.

Check in by the boat dock and log cabin located at the southeast shore of Nottingham Lake.

Driving Directions: Exit I-70 at 167, go southbound on Avon Road, head west (right) at West Benchmark Blvd (third roundabout). The road will end in the parking area for the cabin.

Notes : Open Water Swimming is only permitted outside the beach swim area during designated programs and under Lifeguard Supervision.
