Experience the transformative power of drawing with our new condensed program designed for adults who are complete beginners and those who would like to brush up their drawing skills. Our expertly crafted curriculum will introduce you to the skills and techniques necessary to draw anything from observation. By learning the fundamentals of drawing, you will have a solid basis for composing paintings, and for more specialized forms of drawing such as portraiture, figure drawing, travel sketching, and landscape.

Our experienced and highly qualified instructors will guide you through the learning process in a step-by step manner, gradually building skills and artistic confidence. You will have the opportunity to work with graphite, ink and charcoal, learning the uses and expressive possibilities of each medium. Every class will allow time for personalized feedback as well as group discussions to foster community and encourage the development of your drawing.

Notes : Required Materials: - Pad of drawing paper or wire-bound sketchbook that is at least 9 x 12 inches. Look for white paper with a slightly rough texture, that is fairly substantial, at least “60 lbs” in weight--“drawing” paper, not “sketching” paper. - 2B pencil (a wider selection of “B” pencils is nice to have, but not essential). - White eraser - Kneaded eraser - Pencil sharpener - Willow charcoal: a few sticks - Graphite stick: flat and rectangular, 2B - Very fine black pen with permanent ink, such as Sakura Pigma Liner or Staedtler in a 0.3 or 0.5 width. - Optional materials: Pad of Strathmore Paper for Charcoal, any size; a blending stump, India ink, some twigs gathered from outdoors 4-7 inches long.
