Description :

This exciting class allows our students to explore their creativity while making three-dimensional objects using a variety of materials. Students work with air-dry and bakeable clay, paper-mache, and recycled materials. We familiarize students with the key concepts and techniques needed to work with sculpture, including sizing, volume, carving and more. Students will work on their pieces under the guidance and advice of a skilled instructor who will provide critical feedback throughout the making process. As part of our Visual Arts class, sculpting students are able to specialize in the subject of their choice, while working alongside students who are focusing on a different subject (painting, drawing, or cartooning). This approach encourages students to draw inspiration from their classmates and offers the opportunity to create mixed-media pieces.
