Description :

This class is structured to give our students a feel of what it's like dancing with a professional company. Classes will start with an advanced-level ballet class and end with either a modern technique class or learning and creating original choreography specifically for the dancers. Students who have not met the guidelines set by the Dance Arts staff to safely move into pointework who are enrolled will participate in demi-pointe and be provided further strengthening exercises.

Junior and Senior Company classes are only offered to students currently enrolled with the Dance Arts Conservatory and attend two or more ballet classes per week. Senior Company is included for students enrolled in Ballet 8/9; these students do not need to enroll. For late registration inquiries, contact Gwenevere.kaiser@champaignparks.org or 217-819-3920.

Notes : Dress Code: • Option 1 – Any combination of leotard and tights and pink or skin tone split sole ballet shoes are accepted; skirts may be worn if desired. • Option 2 – Any athletic shirt, thick tights, or biker shorts combination and black or white split sole ballet shoes with white socks are accepted. Hair should be in a neat ballet bun if long enough or neatly pulled out of the face. For more details on dress code and guidelines, please refer to the Dance Arts Handbook at Dance Arts (champaignparks.org). Students may wear their pointe shoes during the ballet technique portion of class with the instructor's permission.

Prérequis : Must already be enrolled in Dance Arts Conservatory Ballet classes.
