11/21/2026 – PUZZLE SOLVING CHALLENGE (Scholastic)

ENTRY FEE: $19

LOCATION – Wilkerson Elementary School 5601 Johnsontown Road Louisville, KY 40272

SCHOLASTIC TOURNAMENT: 5 Rounds of Puzzle Solving

3 Sections: New – 799, 800 – 1199, 1200+

Each round will have a different style of chess puzzle to solve, and each section will feature more difficult puzzles.

Prizes are based on your accumulated score of the number of puzzles you solve correctly.

Bring a pencil with you (we will provide pencils, but one’s own pencil is always the best).

OVERSCHEDULING NOTICE
The KCA has a pending tournament on this date that was not disclosed to us when we asked for their schedule. We try to avoid conflicts so that we can continue to use event profits to provide coaching to low income areas. If the KCA moves their event, we’ll remove this notice. We believe in full cooperation with the KCA, and we believe an annual collaborative scheduling meeting would go a long way to avoiding scheduling conflicts. We have requested this meeting for 3 years, and so far this meeting has not occurred to our knowledge.
