Considering becoming a lifeguard in the next few years? Learn about a variety of lifeguard skills in our Jr Lifeguard program. This one day training provides a broad overview of the types of training done for lifeguards at the City of Galesburg run by our Lifeguard Instructor/Recreation Specialist, Cierra Williams.

 Participants will: 

• Complete the water safety sequence
• Learn about safety & injury prevention around water
• Learn about distressed swimmers, active and passive saves
• Perform various rescues
• Learn about CPR & first aid
• And stand in with a City of Galesburg Lifeguard during their shift!

*Please note this class does not result in certification. It is purely an educational class intended for students age 8-14 years old.

Notes : Min of 4 participants needed for program to occur Participants will enter at the staff door at Lakeside Water Park Wear swimsuit under clothes and bring swimsuit. Be sure to apply sunscreen as needed before/upon arrival.

Prérequis : - Age 8-14 - Comfortable in the water & able to self rescue in water that is more than chest deep
