Description :
(Ages 7-12) Looking for a fun and interesting introduction to the basics of ponies and horses? Join us at Farrel-McWhirter Farm and learn the important skills of care for the horse's body. Lunging is when the horse or ponies walk, trots, and canters around you on a long rope or lunge line. Ground driving is where you walk behind, steering with long reins. This is the exercise that prepares a horse or pony to pull a cart and is excellent for small ponies that not everyone can ride. Students will practice their braiding and mane and tail care while they rotate through hands on practice with groundwork!
What to bring:
Did you know horses and ponies have such large hearts that there is electromagnetic field given off by them? Recent studies have found that horses and ponies can be exceptionally calming to children and adults, because of this. Open to all experience levels!
