An ancient technique that has being revived in recent years, encaustic painting is the process of creating artworks using encaustic medium (a combination of bees’ wax and resin) to create that unique art piece that will awe friends, family and, open the door for your own personal creative inclinations. During this workshop we will apply and fuse pigments and create collages with various materials embedded in wax. For the collage piece, bring pictures, written papers, small drawings, dry flowers, pieces of textiles or feathers…any small, relatively flat objects you want to incorporate in the piece. Working in a small group will ensure that you will have all the needed assistance from your instructor. All tools and materials will be provided. Comfortable clothes and the willingness to try something new is all you need to bring along.
