Students who are enrolled in a session class may use this calendar to manage their class attendance for missed classes and make-up classes, per studio policy.
Additionally, Esh students may purchase drop-ins for classes or sign up for open studio and practice time using this calendar.
PLEAD READ THE FOLLOWING POLICIES BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A DROP-IN CLASS, OPEN STUDIO, OR PRACTICE TIME:
About Drop-in Classes:
Level 101 classes are open to new students for drop-ins during the first two weeks of the session only, from March 3rd - 16th. After this time, only students with prior experience may drop in on Level 101 classes. Please note that all Level 101 Power classes and Contortion 101 classes have prerequisites that students must meet.
All other classes require explicit approval for drop-ins. Esh students are approved to drop in on classes at or below their current class level in each discipline in which they have recently taken classes. Those who are new to Esh but not new to circus arts must contact us to arrange a skill evaluation before attending a leveled class. If a student purchases a drop-in for a class that they are not approved to take and the instructor determines that they cannot safely participate in class, the student will not be allowed to participate and no refund will be granted.
About Practice Time and Open Studio:
Esh students may sign up for Practice Time and Open Studio to come in and practice their skills! This is self-directed time to practice what you've learned in class; Practice Time and Open Studio are not appropriate for people without circus experience.
During Practice Time, each student has a dedicated aerial point, acroland or handstand space, Cyr floor, or Wire/Pipe area to themselves for the hour. For aerial students, a member of our admin team will be in touch before your scheduled practice time to find out what apparatus you would like to use during your training. Options for aerials are: silks, sling, rope, hoop, trapeze (static or single point), and straps. Cyr students may use an Esh wheel or bring their own.
You may also sign up for Practice Time if you have your own aerial apparatus. If you are bringing your own apparatus, you must be able to tell us the manufacturer, show proof of the working load limit and breaking strength or load rating safety factor, and the apparatus must pass a visual inspection before being rigged.
Open Studio is open to Esh students ages 16+. Pre-registration is required. Students should expect to share equipment and space during Open Studio. We will have plenty of apparatuses up, though, so you'll be able to get in lots of air time (or floor time, if you're coming for acro, tumbling, wire, etc). Cyr folks, we can roll up some floor space for you too if needed! (Or check out the dedicated Cyr Open Studio on Friday evenings!) If you would like to bring your own aerial apparatus to be rigged during Open Studio, please be prepared to share it. If you do not want to share your apparatus, plan to leave it at home and use Esh equipment.
STUDIO POLICIES
Mask Policy
Masks are currently optional at Esh. Students registering for programming at Esh should note that no refunds will be granted due to changes in Esh's mask policy.
What to bring & What to wear
Students should bring a water bottle to class.
Find details about what to wear here.
Arrival
Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of your class time or training time. Upon arrival, students should store their belongings in the lobby and then enter the main studio, rather than waiting in the lobby for class to begin.
Spotting Policy
Some coaches may choose to offer students hands-on spotting to assist with certain skills; other coaches may not offer spotting. As always, coaches will ask for consent before touching or spotting a student, and students may always refuse. We value our strong consent culture at Esh!
Cancellation Policy:
If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, please protect our shared community and stay home! Students are able to cancel their session class reservations up to 4 hours before the start of class and receive a make-up credit.
If a student needs to cancel a drop-in class reservation, practice time, or open studio, they will receive an account credit if they contact Esh at least 4 hours in advance via email to info@eshcircusarts.com. No refunds will be issued. Students enrolled in session classes should manage their class reservations themselves per studio policy.
With less that 4 hours notice, no refunds or credits will be granted.
This cancellation policy is firm and no exceptions will be granted.
If you have questions about these policies, please reach out to us at info@eshcircusarts.com.
