CLUB YOUTH TEAM 

APPLICABLE TO BADGE or YOUTH PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ONLY

For Fencers Ages 13-17 - Born in 2008 to 2012

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED IN A FENCING CALGARY PROGRAM (BADGE OR YOUTH & ADULT) TO PARTICIPATE IN TEAM ACTIVITIES

*ANNUAL TEAM MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED - If you are not already a member, the membership cost will be automatically added to the activity you are registering for. What is included in the Membership? Access to Team Meets, Youth Practice Groups, Private Lesson Groups, Play and City level competitions throughout the season. *THE MEMBERSHIP FEE IS PRORATED DEPENDING ON WHEN YOU START IN THE SEASON

Any Fencer who is age 13+ AND completed EITHER Yellow Badge OR is currently fencing in Youth & Adult program can register!

The Club Youth Team is focused on fun, and the many benefits of practicing as a group for future events.

Working together WITH A TEAM and participating AS A TEAM is what the program is ALL ABOUT!  

The GOAL is team-building and having fun in preparation for events throughout the season (September-June)!

Location: Fencing Calgary South (Unit 12, 6325 12th St SE - Deerfoot Meadows area)
 

IMPORTANT: Club Youth Team Members are required to continue participation in their CURRENT registered classes (1-2 classes per week in either the Badge or Youth Program)

ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION:

• Team Members register for TEAM MEETS, GROUP PRACTICES, PRIVATE LESSON GROUPS, PLAY COMPETITIONS and CITY CIRCUIT COMPETITION EVENTS scheduled throughout the season.

REGISTERED FOR UNDER THE TEAM: TEAM MEETS & TEAM GROUP PRACTICES:

• TEAM MEETS: Team Meets are half day events where Fencers get motivated and learn how to practice and play as a team. Various games, mini mock competitions and goal setting, are just a few of the fun Team Meet Activities that are included. Fencers do not have to attend every Team Meet to be part of the team, but should attend as many as possible with their teammates. 

• TEAM GROUP PRACTICES: Group Practices are where team members get to have even more Fencing Fun, while practicing the skills they learn in class and playing the sport. Team members can choose from various 6 week options, running back to back, throughout the season. Optional but Recommended.

REGISTERED FOR UNDER THEIR OWN PROGRAM:

• PRIVATE LESSON GROUPS
• PLAY COMPETITIONS 
• CITY CIRCUIT COMPETITIONS

Add on a TEAM HOODIE to wear at future events!

• All Fencers are to bring their own equipment (either their own or borrowed from a current community program)

IMPORTANT: Once your familiy has signed up for the Youth Team our Coaching Staff will email you information regarding practices and events that are appropriate for your fencer. PLEASE CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL.
