The Kindness Club is an evening program for children who want to learn more about animals. Join us for eight fun-filled weeks of learning, crafts, games and opportunities to meet some of our amazing animal friends.
This program is for 6- to 13-year-olds, and runs three times per year in the fall, winter, and spring. There is a Junior group (6- to 9-year-olds) and a Senior group (10- to 13-year-olds). There is a maximum of 10 children per group.
Each age group in Kindness Club offers two different levels so that you can choose the option that best suits your child. The levels were designed to allow participants to gradually build their knowledge, with level 2 exploring topics in greater depth than level 1. In general, level 1 covers broader, introductory topics, while level 2 focuses on more specialized subjects. However, participants are not required to complete level 1 before registering for level 2, and families are welcome to choose the level that they feel is the best fit.
Please note: this program is education-based and does not involve volunteering with shelter animals!
The Kindness Club inspires children to learn about animals through one central theme: kindness. By building habits of compassion and empathy, members are encouraged to be kind to animals, each other, and their community.
Each week focuses on a different animal-related topic, brought to life with fun crafts, games, lessons, and activities.
Club members will also choose a “kennel pal,” a shelter animal they can follow the progress of. Together, we explore why some animals are adopted quickly while others take longer to find their forever homes.
When possible, members may meet child-friendly animals from the shelter as well as visiting animal ambassadors.
