We are an inclusive recreation centre that supports people with disabilities to lead active & fulfilling lives.
Description
The Summit at Intellectual Disabilities Society is a supportive, adaptive, recreation center that celebrates people of diverse abilities! The Summit offers recreation and education programs designed to enhance social, physical and life skills for individuals who identify as having a disability and/or being neuro diverse. We collaborate with our members to decide what programs we will offer and what resources are available. What sets The Summit apart from many other services is the emphasis on offering innovative programs and services without the constraints of traditional funding. The Summit is not funded by Community Living BC and no referrals are required. To join, participants pay $45 for a yearly membership (Group Memberships are also available). The Summit has been operating since February 2004 and is funded through various community and government grants.
