Description

Philosophy & Goals Building self-esteem. Encouraging independence. Encouraging free and creative expression through materials, movement, and language. Stimulating language development and increasing knowledge. Giving children a sense of belonging, feeling safe, and cared for. History In 2003, Kootenai Community Centre Society took on the operation and management of the Creston Valley Child Care Society (CVCCS). In 1974, the CVCCS was incorporated as a non-profit society by parents and other community members in order to create and operate day care services for children and families in the Creston Valley. By 1976, the Society began providing full and partial day child care programs. Since 1980, the Society has operated the Teddy Bear Day Care Centre at its current location - 806 Cook St. It is approximately 2000 square-feet and was designed specifically for child care - as the large lot provides a very positive setting for outdoor play and learning. Teddy Bear Day Care is inclusive and will accommodate different disabilities and challenges for special needs children with qualified staff, offering educational and social development activities for all.
