Do you like twisty mysteries, private eyes, and femme fatales? Want to make a movie with a striking visual style? Got a killer Bogart impression? Film Noir is the workshop for you!

Students in this workshop will master the fundamentals of screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing while learning about classic films from the 1940s, 50s, and beyond. Complete the classic noir style with special lessons on shadowy lighting, black-and-white cinematography, and voiceover!

If your student wants to be a hard-boiled detective or a shady villain, loves fedoras and trench coats, or just wants to tell a story full of mystery and darkness, this is the workshop for them! Join us at the end of the week to watch their films on the big screen!

Rising 7th-12th graders can work towards the Light House Achievement Award by completing programs in three different categories. This workshop counts as one Core Filmmaking credit. Visit lighthousestudio.org/achievement-award for more information.
