Description :

Have you seen the large dome peeking out of the tree tops from Geneva Lake?  Join us as we tour Space & Spaces Tour of Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay Wisconsin.  We will take a 1.25 hour guided tour that involves the astronomy, architecture, landscape design, restoration and the people of this international landmark. The observatory opened its dome in 1897 and houses the world’s largest refracting telescope.  Once our tour is complete we will head to Lake Geneva’s downtown area for 3 hours of shopping.  Lunch will be on your own in downtown Lake Geneva. Trip includes: transportation by Park District bus and guided tour. This trip has limited number of participants due to tour group requirements. Moderate to extensive standing, stairs and walking.
