The Jewish Plays Project (JPP) is a radical experiment in artistic democracy and collective action, and it takes YOU to make it work. The JPP gathers scripts from around the world representing a phenomenally rich and diverse cross section of new Jewish drama. Attend the live reading of excerpts of the top three plays and YOU, the audience, decide the winner! Flatbush Lysistrata by Lila Rachel Becker Three Hasidic women gather at an axe-throwing parlor to plan a sex strike. A play about how women carve spaces for themselves within fundamentalism. SHURA: The mission of identifying life by Roee Joseph, translated into English by Shir Freibach A playwright-soldier documents the impossible task of identifying the dead after October 7, uncovering the fragile line between witnessing horror and choosing life. This Place Stinks by Jacob Surovsky Noah chooses to destroy his family in order to save the world. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event.
