Blended Standard First Aid: 8 hours online learning, 5.5-7.5 hours teaching time

This class includes:

Comprehensive course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

This certification includes:

A 3 year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and AED

What content to expect:

 

• The Red Cross
• Preparing to respond
• The EMS system
• Check, Call, Care
• Airway emergencies
• Breathing and Circulation emergencies
• First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
• Wound care
• Head and spine injuries
• Bone, muscle and joint injuries
• Sudden Medical Emergencies
• Environmental Emergencies
• Poisons (includes opioid poisoning)

To complete this class you must:

• Have the ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps;
• 100% attendance and participation;
• have a minimum of 75% on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.

Deidre Perron -  has been a Canadian Red Cross Instructor for First Aid and CPR for more than 30 years! She has been on the Ritchot Fire Dept. as a volunteer Fire Fighter for 20+ years. She loves instructing these courses and enjoys having fun while learning. Diedre also teaches our Stay Safe Course.

Participants who are interested in re-certification are also elligible to take this course.
