CRC Youth Afterschool Resident Membership 3pm-6pm - Grades 6-12 (2025-2026 Schoolyear)
Oak Park resident middle schoolers and high schoolers can enjoy access from 3:00-6:00P Monday through Friday when school is in session for the 2025-26 school year. During this time, structured and unstructured activities and spaces will be available and supervised by CRC staff including access to the Esports lounge, gymnasium, community rooms. This program will not run when school is not taking place. Also, when school only meets for a half day, the program will stay 3-6pm. Students will be expected to have their school ID's for identification purposes.
Through a partnership between the Community Mental Health Board of Oak Park Township (CMHB) and the Park District of Oak Park (PDOP), the Youth Afterschool Membership Program occasionally provides opportunities for youth to participate in mental wellness workshops designed for adolescents/teens. Workshops are educational in nature and intended to help youth gain and maintain overall mental wellness, share information, and engage in skill-building activities designed to optimize their mental health and create knowledge of available resources. The program does not include any direct counseling, individual therapy, group therapy, or any other intervention provided by a licensed clinician. Descriptions of specific sessions offered during the Afterschool Program for the current school year will be posted on the calendar located at //pdop.org/crc/afterschool (schedule subject to change).

Oak Park’s Community Recreation Center is a 42,000 sq. ft. facility that offers an indoor walking/running track, gymnasium, fitness center, group exercise & dance studio, Esports lounge, community and multipurpose rooms, childcare, and an inclusive locker room. - A three-lane, indoor track for walkers and runners overlooks the gymnasium and offers lockers to store belongings and stretching/resting areas in each corner.
- A gymnasium with 12 basketball hoops that can be converted into two middle school-sized basketball courts or four half courts. The courts are also lined for pickleball, volleyball, and badminton. (during scheduled open times)
- The fitness center includes a variety of cardio and strength training equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, dumb bells, free weights, and pin-select machines.
- The fitness & dance studio will host fee-based classes including Aerobic, HIIT, Yoga and Mind+Body classes. Fee-based dance classes for youth and adults will take place in this space as well.
- The Esports Lounge equipped with consoles, PCs and video games will host classes, tournaments, and open play for both youth and adults.
- Childcare will be available for children 3 months – 11 years old for a fee to CRC visitors while on premises in our forest-themed Playzone. (available at additional fee)
