🎨 What You’ll Learn

This Intro to Sewing Machine class is a beginner friendly monthly class for adults 18+ who want to feel comfortable and confident using a sewing machine. Perfect if you’ve never sewn before or if it’s been a long time and you want a refresher.

You’ll learn the fundamentals of how a sewing machine works and practice essential skills that form the foundation of almost every sewing project. This class focuses on understanding the machine and building confidence rather than completing a finished garment.

This class meets on the second Wednesday of each month, and you can attend once or come back again to continue building skills and confidence.

In this class you’ll learn how to:

• Properly thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin
• Adjust basic machine settings and understand stitch options
• Sew straight seams and simple curves
• Practice starting stopping and controlling speed
• Learn basic sewing terminology and troubleshooting tips

We will work on scrap fabric and practice samples rather than full projects. You are welcome to bring a small personal project if you already have one but it is not required.
