Painting Exciting Still Lifes
4-Week Course with Erin Gillespie

In this lively 4-week course, students will explore the world of contemporary still life painting with instructor Erin Gillespie. Each week focuses on a different modern artist who brings a fresh perspective to still life—through bold color palettes, inventive compositions, and unexpected subject matter.

Students will study these artists’ approaches to light, texture, and form, then create their own original paintings inspired by each style. Erin will guide students in applying techniques such as layering, color harmony, and expressive brushwork to help bring their ideas to life.

This class is perfect for both beginners and more experienced painters who want to loosen up, experiment, and develop a stronger personal style. By the end of the session, students will have a collection of expressive still life paintings that showcase both technique and creativity.

Please note: Supplies are not included. Students should check in with Erin prior to the first class for a materials list.
