Description Each week, children are presented with fresh challenges to solve real-life problems by designing and building their own inventions using recyclables, motors, LED lights, coin batteries, and parts from discarded electronics. Through this process, children learn the basics of simple machines, complex machines, and circuitry as they problem-solve their way toward making unique devices spurred by their imaginations.
Instructor Koko NYC is a South Slope, Brooklyn-based organization that brings imaginative programming to children in 25 schools throughout New York City. By using real tools and recycled materials in sustainability focused programs, children in Koko classes explore the intersection of tech, art, and environment. Empowered by Teaching Artists, Koko classes foster confidence in children to take risks, think big, and learn from failure.
