Description In this basic sewing and design class, each student will design and create original projects! Using fabric, hand sewing needles, cotton, buttons, zippers, scissors, yarn, pattern paper, and sewing machines kids will learn how to make a pattern, hand sew, and use the machine. They will combine these skills to create an original project to take home at the end of the session.

Instructor The Children’s Institute of Fashion Arts, established in 2017, is a NYC non-profit organization devoted to interdisciplinary, creative, life skills education in the fashion arts for young people.  Our mission is to give all children in-depth, hands-on experience in textiles, clothing, and design so they may understand the origins of culture, their own place in it, and have hope for a beautiful, sustainable future.
