Description :

Grown-ups, it’s time to play. Two hours of dedicated creative time with others. To get out of your head and into your body and creative hands. No experience required, just wear comfortable art clothes. You can bring your own art supplies and projects, or use ours as needed!

Unwind Through Art is exactly how it sounds. It’s an art room where you get to show up, unwind, and just make whatever art you want. Get inspired, start. Be supported. Got a project you’re working on? Awesome, bring it with you and come on in. Having a hard week and need to unwind? Just show up empty handed, we got you. Just looking for an artistic community or to try new things? You’ve come to the right place.

Because wouldn’t it be great if we grown-ups had a class where we could just show up, shake off the day with a little dance wiggle, and make some art in a totally chill and supportive setting? Just make whatever we want, just for fun? Sip a hot beverage and chat about art? And have someone encouraging there to help us if needed?

Yeah. So let’s do it. Here’s how it looks: You arrive, there’s upbeat music playing already. Angie welcomes you into the art room, “I’m so glad you’re here!” People are smiling because they know what’s happening first: a one-song dance party to shake off the day.

Everyone has arrived, so the music gets louder and Angie guides the room and gets everyone moving! There’s laughter. It’s dorky. It’s fun. It’s hilarious. Everyone is moving however they feel comfortable. It’s groovin’ and the joy is contagious.

The song finishes. There is laughter, high fives, and a lot of “oh boy I needed that!”

The music relaxes and continues as everyone finds their workspace and gets into their art time. Some people brought their own favourite art supplies and projects they’re working on, and some people arrived empty handed and use the art supplies that Angie provided, and some use both.

Angie has provided some paints, drawing tools, paper, pastels, magazines and scissors for collages, stamping materials. “Pick something and get started. Trust your gut,” she says.

You have Angie there if you have any questions or need an artful idea. In fact, you have the whole room of people if you want artful ideas!

You get to hang out, listen to music, and make art around people doing the same, high-vibe beautiful thing.
